The Community Aspirations Hub is an initiative of the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab within the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In collaboration with communities, organizations, subject matter experts, and people with lived experience, they are exploring innovative community-driven pathways to wellbeing.

They provide access to Aspire, a self-assessment survey and an intervention model that can be customized for different populations and contexts. Aspire helps people overcome barriers to wellbeing, achieve their goals, and activate their full potential.

Dallas LIGHTS is a collaborative group of non-profits and other organizations that share a common commitment to alleviating the challenges of poverty in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding areas. We share in the use of the Poverty Stoplight tool, which helps individuals identify their short and long-term plans and helps the organizations better respond with initiatives arising directly from the stated needs and aspirations of the people we serve.

Our Mission: Nurturing Community Self-Reliance Through Working In Unison To Overcome Poverty & Oppression.

Island CultureZ is community-driven development hub for building back community wealth in historically neglected and excluded communities in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We do this by working together in cooperative ways to create viable worker-owned jobs, increase market access and market alternatives, build back land ownership, build democratic community-control, and restore community health though the fertile economic avenues of local food & agriculture.

Move Forward is an educational program that is designed to help individuals identify steps they can take to improve the quality of life for themselves and/or their families. It begins with a person completing a survey tool called the Stoplight. It’s a visual, comprehensive assessment tool to help a person see how well they are doing overall, helping the person to see their strengths as well as areas where they are lacking what they need to succeed.
First Step Staffing is a non-profit, alternative staffing organization that provides motivated, grateful, and work-read employees. We take the risk out of hiring individuals eager to get back on their feet by providing the specialized support the job applicant needs.
SparkPoint OC Improves family financial stability through financial education and one-on-one financial coaching gives determined residents the tools they need to thrive and break the cycle of poverty.
The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Our message is based on the Bible, our ministry is motivated by the love of God, and our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless.
Roots of Renewal is a community development nonprofit located in New Orleans. We focus on the successful re-entry of formerly incarcerated young adults, the elimination of blight and decay in our neighborhood, and the creation of affordable housing options. We are working to eliminate poverty and violence in the city’s neighborhoods and communities.
CARE works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. They seek a world of hope, inclusion and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and all people live with dignity and security.

The Pedro Arrupe Jesuit Institute is a Catholic institution engaged in research, education, information and social action. It is part of the Ignatian Spirituality Center, located in Manresa, Miami. It partnered with LaSalle Educational Center to implement the Stoplight in Homestead, Miami.

La Salle Educational Center, Homestead is a Catholic Community Center following in the traditions of The Brother of the Christian Schools, serving low income and agricultural families in the South Dade Community.

Providing a safe and nurturing environment, the center offers an opportunity for an integral formation through education, faith formation, vocational skills and sports. We strive to strengthen academic ability and leadership skills that will enable them to grow and raise themselves out of poverty.
